Google & YouTube Data Use
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Da Boys Media is a real, operating media company. This site is our public home for that content, plus a private administration system our own team uses to run it. This page explains, in plain language, exactly how that internal system connects to Google and YouTube APIs.
Who this applies to
Only authorized Da Boys Media owners and staff, signing in to our internal admin system with their own Google Account, ever connect to Google APIs through this site. This connection is never requested from, or used on behalf of, site visitors - only from Da Boys Media's own accounts, for the company's own business administration.
Exactly what we request
youtube.readonly- read-only access to view a connected channel's own public metadata (titles, descriptions, upload dates, thumbnails)yt-analytics.readonly- read-only access to that channel's own non-monetary performance reports (views, watch time, subscriber trends)spreadsheets.readonly- a separate, read-only connection to one internal Google Sheet we maintain for the Scratch Ticket Review show, authenticated with our own Google service account rather than a personal Google Account
None of these permissions can edit, upload, or delete anything in a Google or YouTube account, request monetary/revenue data, or access any account other than Da Boys Media's own connected channels and spreadsheet.
What we use this data for
The YouTube data powers the channel and video dashboards our own staff use internally to track publishing and performance across Da Boys Media's seven active brands. The Google Sheets data lets us sync session, challenge, and results information for the Scratch Ticket Review show from a spreadsheet our own team maintains. None of it is combined with, or used to build a profile of, any site visitor.
Storage and security
OAuth tokens are encrypted before being stored and are never exposed to the browser or to any client-side code. Access to the admin system that uses these tokens is restricted to authenticated staff and owner accounts, enforced by database-level row security policies - the same protection used everywhere else sensitive data lives on this site.
Retention
A connected account's tokens are retained only until an authorized staff member disconnects the integration, or until Google revokes them independently. Data synced from YouTube and Google Sheets (video metadata, performance figures, session results) is retained to power the dashboards and public pages described above, for as long as this site operates.
Revoking access
An authorized staff member can disconnect a Google connection from within the admin system at any time, which stops all future syncing immediately. Independently, anyone who has connected a Google Account can revoke Da Boys Media's access at any time from their own Google Account permissions page.
Deletion requests
To request deletion of data associated with a connected Google Account, contact us through our contact form.
Google's own policies
