Data Deletion

This page explains what data Da Boys Media may store when a social media account (such as a Facebook Page or Instagram professional account) is connected to our internal administration system, how to disconnect it, and how to request deletion of that data.

What we may store from a connected account

If a Da Boys Media owner or staff member connects a social media account through our internal admin system, we store: the account's platform identifier (such as a Facebook Page ID or Instagram professional-account ID), a display label, an encrypted access token (and refresh token, where the provider issues one), the OAuth permission scopes granted, and - for a Meta connection - the identifier of the Meta person who authorized it, which we use only to recognize which of our connections a later Meta deauthorization or deletion request applies to. We do not store passwords, profile photos, or a copy of the connected account's Meta profile data beyond what's listed here. Tokens are encrypted before being written to our database and are never exposed to a browser or to any client-side code.

Who this applies to

Only accounts an authorized Da Boys Media owner or staff member has explicitly connected through our internal admin system. This system is never used to connect, on behalf of a site visitor, an account that visitor doesn't control.

Disconnecting vs. requesting deletion - these are different

Disconnecting a Meta account (by an authorized staff member in our admin system, or automatically when someone removes our app from their Meta settings) immediately clears its stored access and refresh tokens and stops it from being used again, but keeps the connection's identifying details on file - this supports reconnecting the same account later without re-registering it from scratch. Requesting deletion goes further: it does everything disconnecting does, and additionally removes every value in our system capable of identifying which Meta account or person that connection belonged to (see “What gets deleted” below).

How to request deletion if you can't access the admin interface

If you connected a Meta account (Facebook or Instagram) to Da Boys Media and want your data deleted but can't reach our admin interface yourself, you can request deletion directly from Meta's own settings for the app - Meta will notify us automatically - or contact us directly through our contact form or at customerservice@daboysmedia.com. A request submitted through Meta's own deletion mechanism is processed immediately and synchronously when we receive it - our system does not queue or delay this step. We review verified manual deletion requests promptly and process them within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may contact you when reasonably necessary to verify the request or identify the relevant connection.

What gets deleted

A deletion request clears the connection's stored encrypted access and refresh tokens (same as disconnecting), and additionally removes or replaces every identifying value we held for that connection: the Meta person identifier, the Facebook Page ID or Instagram account ID, the display name/handle we had on file (replaced with a generic “Deleted account” placeholder), the granted permission scopes, the internal grouping/linking values that associated it with a sibling account (for example a linked Instagram account under the same Facebook Page), and any verification details. Where a database row must remain for technical reasons (so an unrelated record referencing it doesn't break), it is anonymized in place rather than left identifiable - never left in a state that could be used to re-identify which Meta account or person it used to represent.

What limited records may be retained, and why

We retain a minimal internal record that a connection existed and was disconnected or deleted (event type and timestamp only - no token, no password, no Meta identifier, no message content) for our own security and operational recordkeeping, the same kind of activity record we keep for every administrative action taken in our internal system, regardless of provider. We also keep an internal note of which Da Boys Media staff member originally registered the connection - this is our own internal record-keeping, not information derived from or supplied by Meta, and is not something a Meta deletion request can or needs to remove. None of these retained records include the content of anything the connected account posted or received, and none can be used to identify the Meta account or person the deleted connection belonged to.

Our own business content is separate

A Meta account connection is only ever used to register where content could be published - it is never the storage location for the content itself. Deleting a connection's Meta identity data never deletes Da Boys Media's own drafts, captions, media, or other business content, since that content is not stored as part of the connection record and does not depend on it. Deleting a connected social media account's data also does not affect, and is entirely separate from, any newsletter subscription, contact form submission, or other Da Boys Media business record you may have - those are described in our Privacy Policy and managed independently through Newsletter Preferences.
